Billed as an exciting Grand Tourer the Mantis was the first foray for Marcos into full 4 seater cars. Developed over 3 years Marcos went on to say the Mantis had sculptured styling with pace enough to satisfy the most discriminating driver.
|
They went on to say, "The classic modern styling gives high all round visibility and a low centre of gravity together with an extremeley wide track ensures superb roadholding. The luxurious interior seats four in comfort, and the boot, with a capacity of ten cubic feet makes the Mantis ideal for the man who is going places and wants to travel in style."

Styled by Dennis Adams the fibreglass body sits upon a square tube metal chassis utilising Triumphs 2.5 litre straight 6 engine and GT6 suspension components. The combination of a lusty engine and well setup suspension gave the Mantis a well sorted and comfortable ride. It's a long and low beast coming in at a mear 46 inches tall and a fairly vast 15ft 6 3/4 inches long.
