1958 to 1974
Production of the Elva Courier started in 1958 with the Mk1, based on a tubular ladder frame chassis and Ford or MG engines. Initially intended for competition use the Courier found its place as a competent road race car.
The Mk11 Elva Courier was really where kit production started, although short lived as the original company ran into financial difficulties and sold the Elva to Trojan Cars Ltd. This prompted the Mk111 Courier which had a square tube ladder frame chassis with Triumph running gear.
Several hundred Couriers were sold during its production up to the Mk4 due to its strong reputation for great handling, competition and strong build.
