The Jeffrey J4 was the development of customer demand for a road going version of George Jeffreys successful 750MC specials. Very much a race going car in road going clothes the J4 pedigree was obvious.
Based around a space frame chassis the J4 was powered mainly with Ford 1300cc or 1600cc 4 pot engines. Handled brilliantly but with an extremely hard ride.
Bodywork was a mix of aluminium and fibreglass panelling. Interior was sparce but functional. Superceded by the Jeffrey J5 a year later which was 'softer' and more roadgoing. Approx 30 Jeffrey J4 cars were built.
