The Excalibur Crusader was a 2+2 sports car in the loosest sense of the word. Based more on looks than out and out performance.
The Crusader was based around a ladder frame chassis to which Ford Cortina donor components were attached. The Mk 4 and 5 Cortina were generally used which donated running gear and the Pinto engine although other Ford engines could be fitted up to the Cologne V6.
Bodywork was GRP incorporating steel rollover protection, seperate bonnet, bootlid and doors. Kit packages started at around £3k plus VAT and completed cars at over £10k.
